My Spring Break Adventures

On my last blog I talked about the first days of Spring break. And I said I would talk about my spring break on this one. So, here it is.
First I went to a friends house. I was very excited and happy. In fact, I wolfed down a Jimmy Johns sub in about 2 minutes. I was going to spend the night. When I got to my friend's house we went downstairs to the basement and started with Lego Life. We each had our own army and characters. We each had a business. I had a garage and every 20 minutes I charged 5 Lego dollars. It was a good business. But my friend's brother's Lego shop was way better at business.
Soon my friend and I were playing a game. We were playing a video game. It was called War Hawk. I wasn't the best because the game ended 10 to 1. But there was another game I liked. My friend's brother taught me how to play another game called Dungeons and Dragons. This version is different than the real one because we didn't have the handbooks. I was pretty good because I had plundered a kingdom. My friend though, got ganged up by a bunch of soldiers. But any way it was very fun. I'm now interested in the real one.  My mom calls me a geek. Now I have a question for you. Have any of you played Dungeons and Dragons?
Then On Thursday I went to the Indiana History Center. There was some cool stuff. I liked how you could "go back in time" to meet some historical events in Indiana. The first was polio in 1955. There was a room that would have existed in the time of polio when they were shipping out antidotes. And the other exhibit was about Doctor Middleton. He was an African American doctor who couldn't work in a hospital. So he worked with his own money and in his own office. Unfortunately my parents signed me up for a shot. I hate shots. Fortunately I escaped before I got one.
And there was an Abe Lincoln exhibit. There were pictures and paragraphs about the Emancipation Proclamation. One I liked was a picture of an eagle on his nest and he had his claws grasped on the eggs that were capable of being attacked. And there were green eggs that were with the Confederacy. They said the name of the state but on two it also said rotten and bad.
During Spring break we celebrated Nikita's birthday. She is now 13. We gave the dogs a little bit of ice cream and a treat. Who do you think was done first? Veteran Nikita, Experienced Hoover, or Rookie Lizzie? Lizzie! She crammed it down. She was done long before the others.
The rest of my weekend was quiet. We watched IU win and lose (I'm sorry to say). Because they lost, we took Hoover for a walk on the B-line. Also, for bracket season, just like last year,  I'm going IU all the way! What about you?

  1. To answer your questions: No I don't play Dungeons and Dragons, but a lot of my kids do and I get stories about the game all the time! I am so glad to hear Rookie Lizzie is eating up a storm now - I bet she never had a birthday celebration before! I'm with you on "The Dance" - IU ALL THE WAY! Since I live in Illinois I really enjoyed the IU victory last Friday! Sounds like you enjoyed your spring break - I am getting ready for mine. Hope you have a good week back.

  2. I love IU basketball, but I haven't seen IU win in years. T_T - that's a crying face. It seemed like for two years or more, whenever I turned on an IU game, I'd watch them lose. And when I missed the game, they'd win. Justin can watch a game alone and see IU win, so the cursed one seems to be me. I know IU hasn't always been a winning team, and they lose sometimes whether I watch or not. But I haven't seen them *win* in ages, and I'm not about to jeopardize their chances by watching a game now that they doing really well! Some people think I just don't like basketball. I don't like the NBA too much, but I've always liked watching IU play. I'm thinking of trying to watch again after this year. I hope IU wins the title - maybe it will break my curse! ^_^

We will not speak of D&D here. Shhh.
