Wild Wes

Wild Westley, strong enough to take an Ian down.  Mum and I were venturing to the animal shelter on Sunday to see the husky Baloo. We had found him and were deciding on whether to take him outside in the snow or not. Then, a volunteer came forth and told us Baloo was going to be adopted that afternoon! The new owners were even filling out papers.
So, we decided to take Westley out, a Sheperd mix who was a year old. Big mistake. This was my Mum's bright idea. We took Wes out to an enclosure. Unfortunately, it was a smaller one.
As soon as we got in the enclosure, Wes took off like a kid on Christmas morning. He enjoyed going after me. Westley would go for my ankles and I came crashing to the ground with Westley jumping on me. This happened more than once. I was covered in snow. Mom couldn't take a picture for she was crying so hard from laughing.
Wes was also a showoff. Westley found a tennis ball and wouldn't let a soul get it. He even went after my ankles with it! Westley is a very exuberant young dog that is going to need a VERY large yard. He is a friendly chap!
Here in Indiana, we got a good amount of snow over the weekend. Enough to go sledding! I even got to practice my skeleton. This video will tell you how well I did. It's not as easy as it looks.
And there was enough snow for the dogs to go on a walk. Lizzie was her usual bossy self, Hoover with his own happy grin, and Nikita, was surprisingly nimble that day. A sight to see.

And this  weeks Acts of Kindness award goes to Gus Kenworthy. This skier will not only bring home silver, but also some puppies. I'm a little late with the news, I'm sure you have heard of him by now. Gus has inspired other Olympians to adopt stray dogs. Even they may inspire others to adopt. There are plenty of cats and dogs that need homes.
