This week had a great amount of soccer to it. We had a game on Wednesday at 6:00. It was a poorly scheduled game in my opinion. I say that because kids do have homework at night. Yet at least I had a game to remember. I finally scored! I read a pass, stole the ball, and shot! The ball went flying into the other team's goal. It stuck right in the upper corner.
The game ended 4-3. Columbus almost tied us but the defense survived. Yet on Sunday our team was crushed by Zionsville. We played in a drizzle that day. I found it enjoyable but I'm not sure our fans had fun. The game ended 7-2. At least the burger and shake were good after the game. The Lotus Festival came to Bloomington. My mother and I went to see the parade Saturday night. We waited patiently for a glimpse of the parade. Then it came. There was an assortment of flags, colors and even a giant hand waving in the air. The bands played music as the parade moved along. I enjoyed the parade as did mum. I also believe I got a few great ideas for writing. At the animal shelter on Saturday, I finally got the chance to straighten those cats out. There were a few cats in the same area. I had a toy and waved it around. The cats became interested and soon they were all waiting for the chance to get a bat at the toy. Unfortunatly, all good things must come to an end, it was time for us to play with some of the other animals. I found my own new hobby, I like marbles. These are old marbles. They are my great uncle's marbles he had when he was a young boy. Did anyone else play with marbles or collect them when they were growing up? And to end my blog, Hoover has an interest in my room now. He came in Thursday night and decided to lay under the bed, his bottom sticking out from under the bed. After awhile, he got out and left but returned early in the morning to be petted. At least I can avoid licks by pulling the blanket over my head. It's always a fun time with sled dogs around. .
On a good Saturday afternoon, the Cutters actually had a win for the second time. We beat Zionsville 2 to 1. This was the time I had the perfect chance to score. I passed to a teammate, he had a great shot and it bounced off the goalies hands. The goal was wide open. The ball was right there and I had a chance to give us a goal. I shot and the ball hit the post! It bounced back and another teammate shot and scored. That was my moment of truth and I blew it. At least I got quite the story. Lizzie has also got quite used to my room. She actually got on my bed last night at some point. But I was forced to move my legs for she takes up a part of the bed. I accidently hit her with my feet this morning. She nudged me and that got me up. I don't know why she curled up on my bed but maybe it was because she had two walks yesterday and needed cushioning. One of those walks included me running Hoover and Lizzie. I concluded Lizzie was way faster. Here is a very funny video about a dog and Fall. This makes me hope our trees drop that many leaves and either Hoover or Lizzie is that energetic. My bet is it will be Lizzie.
Well my fellow dog lovers, we have another friend to talk about. His name is Oakley, from the Northern Lights Sled Dogs. He was in a 10 by 10 pen and all we know is that he spent some of his life in the pen. He needs to loose some weight and be groomed. I think Oakley would be a good dog for you because he is cute and seems to be a mellow dog. If you are interested in him being your perfect dog, watch his video.
The Cutters soccer team did not have much luck this weekend, kind of like Oakley in his life. It felt as if Cutters was a Stanley Steamer and the two teams we played were a Ferrari.
We were hammered first by the West Side on Saturday. We lost nine to nil. At least we improved when we played Fishers on Sunday. We still lost 3 to nil but the last time we played Fishers we lost 7-1. We held them to one goal for most of the game but then they got two quick goals. We also went to the birthday party for two soccer friend's parents birthday. We were able to have some great ribs from the Barbeque Train. We also played a great "sport" called corn-hole. I played my mom and she beat me every time when she needed to get a bag through the hole! She says it was all skill. By the way, does anyone know the official rules of corn-hole? I want to beat my mom. The sled dogs haven't done much this past week. Except the girls, Nikita and Lizzie, picked on Hoover but they might do something next week.
Soccer can have some cruel twists, especially when it comes to sunscreen. We were playing one of the best teams in the state, Fishers. And there I was, half-blinded by sunscreen. And when the game got faster and faster, sweat mixed with sunscreen. It really stung but when I ran around my eyes were clear. Unfortunately we lost 7 to 1. The problem: our 3 defenders were defending 5 attackers. the mid-field just watched. But we all had fun. We will be back at it with 2 games next weekend. I had my NFL(National Football League) draft on Tuesday. I'm playing with some of mom's friends and people I don't know. I think I did well. My only mistake was drafting Tim Tebow, the teamless quarterback. I did it on accident for my last pick. Lizzie has settled into my room. Every morning I wake up to see her laying by my bed. I wonder why she likes my room? She and Hoover have also become good friends. They stay close and sit together a lot. These two are great pals and if you want to hear more of their adventures, stay tuned.
Hello all you sled dog lovers! This post you see the foster legacy go on even though we adopted Lizzie. Northern Lights Sled Dogs Rescue has a ton of videos of their dogs so I chose one. Evan is a senior in the Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue. He was given up by his owners when they had fallen ill. Evan is very mellow and cuddly. If you want to hear more about Evan, you should watch his video. Then you'll see how special he is. Just click on the link. Evan "Hurricane Hoover" visited my room last night. He came in and attacked my buildings and homes with his nose and breath. He destroyed half of the fort. We are lucky it's easy to rebuild because the fort is made out of blankets but this is the second time Hoover has attacked. Mom slept in the fort so we were able to ward Hoover off when he came back to attack in the night. Nikita slept outside the fort because she was unsure where to sleep when mom wasn't in her bed. In the night she came in to check if we were still in the fort. She came in and nosed around but did not destroy anything. I'm glad she didn't snore.
The next day we went to the to the IU men's soccer game. It was a big disappointment. IU lost to UCLA. We lost in the first minute of overtime! UCLA passed and dribbled up the field. They crossed and scored. I can't believe it! I had some bad luck as well. As soon as we got home I ran up to the door, tripped and ran into the door. And as I circled again, I tripped on the steps and fell on the ground. I bruised and scraped my leg. Lizzie came and healed it. How lucky can I be. At least Lizzie got lucky. She's watching National Geo's "Puma." She likes thinking of the cats. Well, it's time for me to watch the puma as well. Good night.
