Lots of News

Brackets are not my strength. On the second round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, I've lost. The two teams I had in the National Championship game have already lost. So, now I can only root for underdogs and despise those who overthrew the team I picked to win it all. But that's the reason why I do a bracket.
Other than my bracket, I've enjoyed my spring break. I visited a friend's house, which was good fun. I aso spent the night at another friend's house. I was a very tired boy. We stayed up until  after two o'clock in the morning playing on my friend's X-box. I had the time of my life though!
And then my Mum got me hooked on "House Hunters." I have now realized I like to watch people look at houses and apartments in another country. It's now one of my many hobbies.
During my spring break, I also saw the Indiana University women's basketball game with a friend. Before the game started, we were asked to play a halftime game. I was hesitant yet accepted. The game's rules were: we would put on clothes for people seven feet tall and score a basket winning a gift card.
Being a soccer player, I didn't stand a chance. When this race started, I ran to the pants and pulled them on. I then tripped in the pants, hobbling to the shirt. I put my head through the arm hole and finally figured out how to put on a shirt. I continued by running to the basketball and shooting. I was lucky enough to score. I was actually surprised. I don't usually score. Especially in a crowd of 2,000 people. I'm a lucky guy. The game was a little more enjoyable after that was over.
The dogs enjoyed their spring break as well. Even with no snow the dogs have fever... spring fever! I can't always control myself. That includes Nikita as well. She was probably the most active of the trio. She can't run as she used to but she does her best. My parents call it more of a hop.
Hoover is a curious yet timid malamute. He was up to no good one day because he was digging a hole, caught red-pawed. Later, Lizzie wanted a playmate. So, she barked at Hoover trying to get him to play with her. She was able to chase him once until he made it to the dog bed, where he wouldn't leave. Nikita hobbled to Hoover's defense. She barked at Lizzie and stood by Hoover. In return, Hoover licked her ear to say thanks.

Soon I'll be writing about soccer again because the Spring season is coming up. I'm excited to play new teams and get better! Stay tuned for soccer news!

The Birthday Girl

Happy 14th birthday to Nikita! She has really been a trooper all these years! On her birthday, Nikita was able to go on a stroll (Lizzie doesn't go crazy when we say stroll). She was wagging her tail and panting and I could easily tell she was happy. She may not be able to hear to well and moves slow but she still enjoys being a part of the pack.

There would be more excitement later. As a treat, the dogs were served a few treats and tad bit of ice cream. You can tell from the picture, Nikita was very excited. Lizzie, swallowed her ice cream whole! Such table manners cannot be tolerated! Nikita received some salmon treats which she generously shared. She's always been a good girl.

The Cozy Corner was erected once again. We had a few encounters with Hurricane Hoover. Today he crawled right under the bed for some belly rubs. Maybe he isn't that destructive.
I should mention, it is my spring break so I intend to enjoy it thoroughly. I'll be on my toes, protecting the Cozy Corner is a full time job. I'll also be sleeping at a friend's house. I know I'll enjoy it! I have a few other things planned for the week, maybe a movie?
I have some mum news to report. Mum has a cold so it is VERY hard for her to talk. I have appointed myself as "Mum's Royal Translator". She clicks her fingers when she needs me. Another fun job!
This weeks kindness award goes to Nikita. I wasn't her biggest fan when I cried as a baby (she even ran outside!) yet she has always stayed by my side. Even now, she likes to hang with me. This makes her a wonderful companion like all dogs.

The Project and Husky Blood

Hello sled dog lovers. You've probably been wondering where I've been this past week. I've been watching a computer screen, making a presentation. I'll also say I've been cooped up in my room, which is true.
I did this project last year. I was creating a settlement. This year I had to make a colony. My colony was Mattville. Last year it was down to the last minute. This year was no exception. I decided to put a lot of content into my PowerPoint. I'm really enjoying learning about stop motion video and for extra credit decided to make a stop animation to go along with my fable. I also wrote a silly National Anthem. I really enjoyed this project and did well and that's what matters.

In other news, which might be a bit embarrassing but it does have to do with dogs, I discovered I was born to be a sled dog lover. Mum was digging through old boxes when she found my sled dog jacket and sweater. This is evidence I was born to be a sled dog even though I don't remember wearing them. Mum tells me the jacket was handmade by someone in Minnesota. Now compared to my shirts, the sled dog jacket is three times smaller. We finally gave the jacket to a stuffed moose. He wear's the jacket with pride. Do you have any old clothes you treasure?
